From classic attractions to new “magic”, Disneyland is always evolving. Known as the “Happiest Place on Earth,” Disneyland opened on July 17th, 1955. More than just an amusement park, this “theme park,” with its five themed “lands,” was the first of its kind, and continues to fulfill Walt Disney’s dream of creating a place where parents and children can have fun together.
Originally named “The Mickey Mouse Park,” and then “Disneylandia” before settling on “Disneyland,” Disney purchased 160 acres for the park in Anaheim and started construction in 1954. the only one designed and constructed under the direct supervision of Walt Disney.
